Currently:
I am a recent MLIS graduate from the University of Illinois, GSLIS. I am a metadata librarian for a database, doing descriptive cataloging in the field of religion, theology, and politics and religion. I’ve been in libraries and archives for over three years.
Professional Interests:
I believe in history and people and work. I believe that only through a critique of ideology can we have a profession that exposes the repressive nature of the capitalist organization of social relationship and begins to dismantle it. I am concerned with the ethics of archives–records management, bureaucracy, governments and transparency–and with the profession and whether archives have responsibilities to the public.
